Terms of Use

In force from 2 September 2026. Reading any page of this site means accepting the conditions set out below.

1. Who publishes this site

shardtale.com is published by Lauren Bennett, a private individual resident at 35 Rue Beaubien E, Montréal, QC H2S 1P7, Canada, reachable on +1 514-999-0795 and at desk@shardtale.com. She writes every page herself. There is no company, no editorial board and no third party with authority over what appears here.

2. What this site is, and what it is not

ShardTale is an independent reading desk for sweet-themed mobile games listed in the Canadian Google Play catalogue. Every note on it is opinion and description, written after playing the title concerned.

The site is not affiliated with, endorsed by, sponsored by or connected to Google LLC, Google Play, Annapurna Interactive, Flipline Studios, Jam City, Inc., Pragmatic Play, or any other developer, publisher, store or brand mentioned on these pages. Where such a name appears, it appears to identify the product being discussed and for no other reason. No commercial relationship of any kind exists with any of them, and no payment or consideration has been received in exchange for a favourable note.

3. Nothing is sold here

This site does not sell software, does not distribute software and does not act as an intermediary in any transaction. It has no basket, no checkout, no subscription and no card form. If you decide to install one of the titles described, you do so on Google Play, under your own Google account and under the store's own conditions.

A paid title is a one-time purchase in the store. Prices shown here are quoted from the Google Play Canada listing on the date printed on the front page and may change at any time without notice; the store listing prevails over anything written here. Refunds are handled by Google Play in accordance with its own rules, and the operator of this site has no ability to grant, refuse or influence one. No commission is received from any listing described on these pages.

4. Accuracy, and the limits of it

Notes, timings and scores on this site are the personal judgement of one editor. Ratings, review counts, prices and category labels are transcribed from the store listing on the day of writing and are not re-checked automatically afterwards. Games are patched, re-priced, re-rated and sometimes withdrawn. Nothing here is a promise that a title will behave as described, will remain available, or will suit you.

The site is offered as it stands, without warranty of any kind, whether express or implied, including any implied warranty of merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose. No undertaking is given that the pages will always be reachable, error-free or free of interruption.

5. Ownership of the material

The written notes, the page structure, the layout and the ShardTale name are the property of Lauren Bennett. You may quote a short passage with a visible link back to the page it came from. Republishing a whole note, or a substantial part of the site, requires written permission first.

Screenshots, application icons and game titles remain the property of their respective rights holders. They are reproduced here in small format, for identification and critical commentary, in the manner customary for editorial coverage of published software. No claim of ownership over them is made. A rights holder who would prefer a particular image removed should write to the address in section 1; such requests are acted on promptly and without argument.

6. Links to other sites

Some pages refer to Google Play or to other external destinations. Those destinations are run by other people, under their own terms and their own privacy practice. Referring to them is not an endorsement of them, and no responsibility is accepted for their content, their availability or anything you do once you arrive there.

7. Liability

To the fullest extent the applicable law permits, the operator is not liable for any indirect or consequential loss arising from the use of this site or from reliance on anything published on it. Nothing in this section limits liability for gross fault or intentional fault, or any liability that the law of Québec does not allow to be excluded.

8. Your statutory rights as a consumer

Nothing in these terms removes or reduces the protection given to you by the Consumer Protection Act (RLRQ c. P-40.1) or by any other mandatory rule of Québec or Canadian law. The Office de la protection du consommateur is the provincial authority for consumer questions in Québec and can be approached independently of anything said here. Where a clause of these terms conflicts with such a mandatory rule, the rule applies and the rest of the terms remain in force.

9. Complaints and how they are dealt with

If something on this site is wrong, unfair or infringing, write first to desk@shardtale.com with the address of the page and a description of the problem. An acknowledgement is sent within five working days and a substantive answer within thirty days. This informal step is asked for before any formal proceeding, so that plain mistakes can simply be fixed.

10. Governing law and forum

These terms are governed by the laws in force in the Province of Québec and by the federal laws of Canada applicable there. Any dispute that cannot be settled by correspondence is to be brought before the competent courts of the judicial district of Montréal, Québec, without prejudice to any right you may have under mandatory consumer rules to bring proceedings elsewhere.

11. Changes

These terms may be rewritten as the site changes. The version published at this address, with the date shown at the top, is the one in force. Continuing to read the site after a change means accepting the version then published.
